Have any of you heard some expressions that sound foolish and eccentric while others sound profound?

 Today let´s have a look at some idioms and proverbs, but first,  let me tell you two fundamental differences between them.

 



         ღIDIOMSღ                                                                                          

  • Idioms are majorly used in poetry.                                                
  • Idioms are used to express an idea or thought.                
                                                                                           
         ღPROVERBS

  • Proverbs are used in daily lives.
  • Proverbs are used to give suggestions to other people.

English proverb "Early birds catch the worm"

A person who gets up early in the morning or arrives early.


A metaphorical idiom "Night Owl"

A person who tends to stay up until late at night or wakeful at night.

English proverb "Don’t judge a book by its cover"

Don´t judge someone or something by appearance alone.

English idiom "Chatterbox"

A person who talks a lot; an excessively talkative person.



English proverb "If you play with fire, you´ll get burned"

     If you get involved in something dangerous or beyond your abilities, will probably experience negative consequences.



English Idiom "Couch potato"

A lazy person who spends a lot of time sitting and watching television.
